Contemporary, professional baby portrait photography
Babies grow up before our very eyes. I know I'm privileged to be able to capture precious moments of your baby perhaps with you or other family members.
Babies are constantly developing, it's amazing how quick they grow up and how quickly you forget their little stages. I'll aim to capture some of these key moments - be it early smiles, playing on their first play gym, highchair antics, playing with their hands and feet, rolling, the list is endless.
How does a baby shoot work?
I want the shoot to be fun (or at least enjoyable) for everyone involved. The shoot is laid-back and normally takes between one and half and two and half hours. It's very much baby-led. Baby photography is unpredictable, which tends to mean we prioritise particular shots you want.
The sessions take place in your home. This works great for most people (you don't have to go anywhere), everything you need is readily available, baby is familiar with the sounds and smells going on around them, and nursing/feeding breaks are possible and relaxed.
What clothes do I need for a baby shoot ?
I'll aim at taking at least some photos of baby in just nappies, so on the day of the shoot I ask that you turn your heating up a fraction.
Plain white or black baby grows are great. I suggest avoiding patterned clothing as in the final image it tends to be distracting.
Do I need anything else for a newborn shoot ?
No. You don't need props. I have a lots of stuff that I bring to you on the day of our session, although chances are that you'll have some things that we might try to incorporate - I enjoy the challenge of making a beautiful photograph that includes items of special meaning.
We'll have chatted beforehand to decide what sort of photos you are looking for. You'll pay for the session and then have the chance to order prints, framed photos and books.
