This was a lovely family photoshoot in Godalming. It’s always nice to be welcomed back into people’s lives – I took photos of Sam when he was just the same age as his new(ish) baby sister.
It’s interesting to see how a family adepts to having two children – of course I spend just a little time with families when I’m taking photos but it’s quite an intense time, so I feel I get to know people quite well on a shoot. When I say it’s interesting I mean I’m interested – certainly not to judge – we have three children now, and our second was a real handful, we definitely struggled and found it very difficult at times. Different babies are different – I love hearing about how you are getting on and what has worked / or not worked for you guys.
No matter how your baby or toddler normally is, a baby or family photoshoot is a different day – my best advice is to be as relaxed and comfortable as you can be. Obviously being able to be in your own home or in surroundings you enjoy or are comfortable in helps a great deal. I’ll do my very best to put you at ease and make the whole photoshoot more of a play date than a forced fun studio setup. Like a lot in life the more you put in, often the more you get out.
I hope you like this selection of images from my family photoshoot in Godalming.
