1. Newborn Photography Tunbridge Wells

   I love the film “True Romance” – there’s a line early on something like “thanks for being such a sweetheart, ‘cos you could have been a real ****”

   I love these images, yet as I arrived on a damp and really dreary morning Imogen had a bit of a medical scare. Instead of postponing she wanted to carry on – something that afterwards I thought spoke volumes as I got to know her and her husband – I thought were both such lovely people. Oscar wasn’t having a sleepy or happy day – again probably not what they would have wanted beforehand – but I say it all the time – when you have to try and comfort your baby, you do forget about the camera a bit and it can be that I start to capture those real feelings, some real moments and some tenderness.

   Photography requires a few things to “align” – sometimes the things you think might be necessary, simply aren’t.

2. Sneak Peak – 1 Frame from Tunbridge Wells Newborn Shoot

   There were so many things that should have made this shoot a complete disaster but I adore so many of frames from this Tunbridge Wells newborn baby shoot the other day that I wanted to share just one.

3. Sevenoaks Baby Photography, 3 Month old Baby Photoshoot

   These guys were lovely. One thing I like about my job (and there are lots of things) is that by going to people’s homes I have to react to the light on the day and the surroundings. As a photographer it’s great – it keeps me on my toes and makes me “see” the photograph in all sorts of situations. These guys have a really interesting (or great) home – I would love to be invited back and take some more shots on a brighter summer’s day, especially as they look to have a great garden.

4. Newborn Baby Girl Photography West Malling, Kent

   This was a nice shoot. Slightly different to some of mine – the focus was to be really on the newborn and not on Mum and Dad. I do really like these shots, but I know that I prefer shooting (and looking at) images with parents in too – my style is lifestyle images – the beauty in real life. I know and appreciate that Mum’s have just been through a lot and may not feel at their most photographic – but to my mind the best photos are ones that trigger memories and make you remember how you felt at that time, as new family with a newborn and that feeling of brimming over with love and joy. I want to capture that – as well as showing you in the best light – remember I’m on your side.

5. Newborn Baby Aimee, 14 day old Baby Girl

   7th September 2012 by Rick Carter

   This was a lovely newborn baby shoot in Dartford. I travel all over the south coast to take baby photos in your own home. These guys were great – a lot of fun. Aimee was a super star – she was asleep the whole time! It’s funny how often new parents wish for their little bundle to sleep a bit more – with these guys they were the opposite – they had to wake Aimee to make sure she fed! It’s always interesting to me to see and find out how different people take to parenting and how all the babies have their own quirks and personality traits – and things to make parents worry!

   I do love these shots – as always with my newborn photography I want a mix of studio type shots and more natural family photos.
