This was a nice shoot in Sevenoaks. Baby Alexander was a little superstar. This was also the first shoot of the year I have been able to take shots of Mum, Dad and a Baby outside without any coats or jumpers on. While I write this – it seems a long time ago although it was just 3 weeks ago.

These guys were lovely. One thing I like about my job (and there are lots of things) is that by going to people’s homes I have to react to the light on the day and the surroundings. As a photographer it’s great – it keeps me on my toes and makes me “see” the photograph in all sorts of situations. These guys have a really interesting (or great) home – I would love to be invited back and take some more shots on a brighter summer’s day, especially as they look to have a great garden.

I love these photos of Macy, Katie and Steve. Little Macy was apparently not having a good day, I thought she was pretty good to be fair. As you can imagine it’s not that uncommon for babies to cry for at least some of the newborn shoot, but as I always say – we’re just looking for a split second – and generally one positive about a crying baby is that Mum or Dad have to cuddle and comfort their newborn – allowing me to get some shots that show your love for your new baby.

Lucas wasn’t the happiest of bunnies for this 3 month old shoot in Sevenoaks, but Jo, Rishi and I had a nice time. As is often the case even if your bundle of joy happens to be “having one of those days” – there is every chance we can still get some nice shots.
